New pages have gone live! Whoo-hoo! 😀 I thought it was time I released some teasers. The blurb pages for each book, critical praise for City of Lights: The Trials and Triumphs of Ilyse Charpentier, book trailers for both novels, and a very nifty page with photos that inspired me while writing Corcitura can now be viewed by clicking on the corresponding tabs above.
I’m in the process of finalizing all the nagging little details that must be ironed out before the books can be released. My hope is that both novels will be hitting the shelves by the end of September, but as Michelangelo said to Pope Julius II: “I will make my end when I am finished!” So until then, I keep reminding myself, “patience, my young Padawan, patience…” 😉
In other news: three weeks ago, I began working on a new novel and am extraordinarily thrilled with how it’s progressing. Writing City of Lights: The Trials and Triumphs of Ilyse Charpentier and Corcitura had kept me comfortably ensconced in a 19th century cocoon for the last ten years, so it has been beyond exhilarating to throw off vocabulary restrictions (No more worrying if the word has come into the vernacular yet, yay!) and have free linguistic reign in this new fantasy world I’m having way too much fun creating. This work is actually the first novel I ever began, but I abandoned it because I had no idea where to take the story. I’m happy to say that thirteen years and two other novels later, this problem has finally been solved! 😀
Check back for more news in the coming days, including two articles loaded with more information than any human being would probably ever want to know as to why and how I wrote City of Lights: The Trials and Triumphs of Ilyse Charpentier and Corcitura. 😉
All the best,
Melika
